Feed My Starving Children

Giving Hope to the Hungry

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian hunger relief ministry based in Minnesota. FMSC was recently named the nation's fastest growing charity by Charity Navigator, a leading non-profit rating organization. Founded in 1987, FMSC has seen its fastest expansion since recommitment as a Christian based non-profit in 2003. Since then, average year-to-year growth has been 76 percent—from three million meals in 2003 to 127 million expected in 2010. One packing site has expanded to six located in Minnesota, Illinois, and Arizona, along with a nationwide mobile packing program that has brought portable packing to 30 states. All food is funded by donors and packed by community volunteers.

Feed My Starving Children provides a team-building environment where people of all ages can come together for a common cause: packing nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children. These meals are then shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world, truly offering hope to the hungry. For more information, click on the link above.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Serving Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties has been providing services to the community since 1974. They are the single largest nonprofit provider of food to low-income households in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties and are the second largest food bank in the country based on pounds distributed per person in poverty. Distribution warehouses are located in San Jose and San Carlos, CA. The Food Bank served an average of 231,000 individuals each month during the last year, the majority of whom are seniors and families with children.

Each year, 4others conducts a one-day, county-wide Food 4others Drive in Santa Clara County. In 2010, this food drive collected over 15,000 pounds of food in just 8 hours. In addition to this successful food drive, our home church, Church of God of San Jose, conducts ongoing initiatives to benefit SHFB, including a weekly Second Harvest Sunday "drive-in, drop off" service for the community, as well as an annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Halloween.
