Crazy Love Tour
The Crazy Love Tour was a seven-day "serve-a-thon" to provide meals and medical supplies to the poor. In one week, 23 Tour participants travelled throughout California, conducting large-scale service projects that would meet the needs of the poor. At the same time, we were able to raise several thousand dollars to fight extreme poverty in sub-Saharan Africa.
Day 2: Joined Giving Children Hope in Los Angeles, serving in various ways from sorting clothing for the less fortunate to helping renovate the organization's facilities and preparing a mobile medical clinic for its debut in Los Angeles' RAM event at the Forum.
Day 5: Prepared and distributed a BBQ meal to 625 people in Mendota, a small town in Fresno Co. where the unemployment rate recently hit 44%.
Over the week: A group of 23 lives were changed by living 4 others!
Participants also raised funds through sponsorships to fight extreme poverty in sub-Saharan Africa. These funds were able to provide:
8 small business loans for entrepreneurial people in extreme poverty to start businesses in Ghana and Kenya through OptINnow.
3 community well repairs in Zambia through a partnership with African Water Project and Seeds of Hope International Partnerships.
10 Ethiopian children were cured of clubfoot through CURE International.
2,000 lbs. of beans, 2 pallets of pasta, 1,000 pairs of new shoes, and 1 bicycle were donated to Children's Hunger Fund.
