Welcome to Youth 4others! This portion of our website will feature resources that have been developed by youth, for youth, or that have a youth emphasis.
In March 2007, X-Force Student Ministries of San Jose, CA began an initiative to create awareness about the water crisis in sub-Saharan Africa and to raise funds for sustainable clean water solutions. Since that time, the African Water Project has been able to bring safe, clean water to thousands in Kenya, Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia (for more information, see Water Projects).
Over the next two years, X-Force students continued to learn more about the issues of extreme poverty, disease, and injustice around the world. This led them to conduct multiple campaigns throughout the year to provide disaster relief, microloans to poor entrepreneurs, insecticide-treated bed nets (to prevent malaria), and food for the hungry, all while continuing to finance clean water projects in Africa. 4others was founded to coordinate these efforts, and to resource an ever-expanding network of ministry partners, donors, and volunteers.
By 2009, the students felt inspired to act as a catalyst for other student groups, faith communities, and organizations around the world. 4others.org was launched to model what is possible when even a small group of people work together toward restorative justice. 4others continues to conduct reproducible endeavors on an on-going basis, in the hope that those efforts would inspire, encourage and equip other student groups, faith communities, and organizations to live their lives for others.
If you are a young person (college-age or younger) or a youth leader, and you would like to share an idea about what you or your group is doing to live for others, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd love to hear from you!
